Nancy Cusic, member of Arbutus Senior Center, has collected toys from senior center members to give to Southwest Emergency Services (SWES) for the past five years. SWES gives the toys to families in need so children can have toys to open on Christmas.
Cusic exceeded her goal of collecting 200 toys this year and says she asks for toys for all age groups and once that can be used in pairs or groups so they can be shared. Growing up as one of nine children, Cusic knew what it was like to not have a toy on Christmas and the importance of sharing.
